How do I get started?
Create an account, then download and install the Windows desktop app. Open it and sign in with the same account, either from the desktop app directly or by finishing sign-in in your browser, which links the two automatically.
Why isn't the wake phrase responding?
Check that Nomi is turned on (the ON/OFF toggle in Settings → General, or the widget itself) and that the wake phrase is enabled in Settings → Voice. If it's on and still not responding, check Windows microphone permissions: Settings → Privacy & security → Microphone, and make sure Nomi is allowed.
What happens when Nomi needs to ask me something?
If a request is ambiguous, for example which of two files to use, Nomi pauses and asks instead of guessing. You'll see the question in the floating widget or the Chat page, and can answer by voice, by clicking a suggested option, or by typing.
How does Nomi decide what it's allowed to do?
Every action type (opening apps, editing files, controlling the mouse and keyboard, and so on) has a permission level: Allow, Ask, or Block. You control these from the Permissions page. "Ask" means Nomi shows you exactly what it wants to do and waits for your approval first.
Can I stop a task while it's running?
Yes. Use the Stop button on the task or in the widget, or the emergency-stop keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+Esc by default), which halts the current task immediately regardless of what it's doing.
Does closing the desktop window quit Nomi?
No. Closing the floating widget just hides it; Nomi keeps running in the system tray so background tasks and the wake phrase keep working. Use "Quit" from the tray icon to fully exit.
What if I turn Nomi off?
OFF stops the wake phrase, voice, and any new autonomous tasks, on every device signed into your account. Tasks already running follow whatever pause/stop behavior you've configured.
Where is my data, and can I delete it?
See the Privacy Policy. You can export or delete your history, memory, or entire account at any time from the dashboard's Account settings.
