Privacy Policy

Nomi is a personal AI agent: a desktop app and web dashboard that can plan and carry out tasks on your computer, ask you questions when something is unclear, remember how you work, and report back. This policy explains what data that involves, how it is stored, and what control you have over it.

Wake-word and speech recognition run locally on your device using an offline model (Vosk) — your voice audio is not sent to a cloud speech service to figure out what you said. Nomi only starts actively listening for a command after it detects the wake phrase or you press-and-hold the microphone button; it is not recording continuously.

Text-to-speech responses use your operating system's built-in voice, which also runs locally.

Every action Nomi can take on your computer, opening an application, reading or editing a file, clicking, typing, reading the screen, is gated by the Permissions system in Settings. Each action type is set to Allow, Ask, or Block. "Ask" means Nomi pauses and shows you exactly what it wants to do before it happens; nothing executes without that approval. You can change any of these levels at any time, and a confirmation-required action can always be denied.

Nomi's long-term memory (things like your preferences and how you like tasks handled) is meant to be relevant, useful, and under your control, not an unbounded log of everything you say or do. You can review, correct, or delete individual memories, or clear all memory at once, from the Memory page of the dashboard.

Nomi stores the following categories of data, tied to your account:

• Account info: your name, email, and sign-in identity (via Clerk).
• Preferences: your Nomi's name, personality, timezone, and settings.
• Task history: instructions you've given, the steps Nomi took, and outcomes.
• Conversation history, when you use Chat.
• Memory entries, as described above.
• Connected devices and, if you choose to connect them, third-party app integrations.

This data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore under your account and is not shared with or sold to third parties. It is used only to operate Nomi for you: running your tasks, remembering your preferences, and showing you your own history.

Nomi relies on a small number of third-party services to function:

• Clerk for authentication and account management.
• Google Gemini for understanding requests, planning, and reasoning about tasks.
• Google Cloud (Firestore, Cloud Run) for hosting and data storage.

The instruction text of a task is sent to Gemini so it can plan and reason about it. Passwords, API keys, and other credentials are never included in what's sent to the model.

From Settings and the dashboard, you can at any time:

• Export a copy of everything Nomi has stored for your account.
• Delete your task and conversation history.
• Delete all memory, or individual memories.
• Delete your account entirely, which removes the data listed above.
• Turn Nomi off, which stops the wake phrase, voice, and new autonomous tasks immediately, on every device signed into your account.

Nomi is under active development. If how it handles your data changes in a material way, this page will be updated and, where practical, you'll be notified in the app.
